Our Classroom

With only one classroom and a maximum of 22 children per day, Koala Playschool maintains high adult-to-child ratios and allows qualified teachers to build strong, trusting, and responsive relationships with each child and family.

Indoor Activities

Koala Playschool offers a rich variety of indoor activities as part of its play-based learning program, which balances child-led investigations with intentional teaching times.

Learning Through Play

Our program explores all learning areas, including literacy, numeracy, science, and creative arts. The indoor environment is flexible, allowing children to choose where they want to play fostering independence and engagement.

Intentional Teaching

At Koala Playschool, intentional teaching is a core philosophy where educators are purposeful and thoughtful in their actions to support and extend children's learning within a play-based environment. It involves a balance of planned activities and spontaneous, responsive interactions.

Our Kitchen

Our gated kitchen is primarily used for the facility's operations, such as staff use, storage and cleaning. Koala Playschool does not offer meal preparation for the children however we do use our kitchen for food based activities such as tea parties, family days and preparing our signature play dough recipe.

Nestled among established trees and green spaces

Here at Koala playschool we place a strong emphasis on exploration of nature through play in our outdoor space, which includes balance beams, a sandpit, a pirate ship, and a mud kitchen, ample grassed area and wooden installations.

Established Garden

The garden features stunning mature trees that provide natural shade, allowing children to play outdoors comfortably year-round and experience seasonal changes in all weather.

A Frames and Obstacle Courses

The obstacle course at Koala Play school is not a rigid structure but a dynamic, child-led part of the natural outdoor environment. The course is made up of "loose parts", natural and recycled objects, that children can constantly rearrange and adapt. This unstructured design encourages creativity, problem-solving, and risk-taking.

Mud Kitchen

The mud kitchen at Koala Playschool is a dedicated, natural outdoor space designed for sensory and imaginative play. It is part of the broader outdoor garden and features various elements to facilitate creative, messy, and collaborative play using natural ingredients

Wooden Installations

Our garden has wooden installations decorated throughout, providing pockets of wonder in every direction. With an abundance of wooden installations ranging from bridges to pulleys, logs, balance beams and decorative stepping stumps scattered throughout.

Sandpit

Our sandpit is an integral and highly valued part of the natural outdoor environment, designed to facilitate imaginative play and skill development. It is strategically placed and undercover to allow children quiet, focused engagement in sensory activities.
